A privately run hostel in a nicely converted old farm barn, Sandville is popular not just with backpackers but with groups looking for a great getaway location, and who can blame them!
There are 30 beds, most in two dorms each sleeping 10 people the remainder in 4 smaller rooms which are suitable for families. The building is centrally heated and there are hot showers available.
The place is centered on a large unfussy kitchen where it is easy to fall into conversation with other guests around the table and a living room with a turf fine burning in the grate. It is friendly and easy going but very well run and efficient too.
Sandville regularly plays host to groups on retreat - there is a beautiful and tranquil meditation room - and it's easy to see why, it is a particularly peaceful place. But it does mean you need to check availability in advance as the hostel may be block booked.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
