Just away from the town centre, in a lovely situation overlooking the Canal, the Boulevard is a well above average guesthouse in every respect, but the outstanding feature is the friendliness and helpfulness of its owners. Really they cannot do enough to ensure their guest have a good stay and are generous with their time and their excellent local knowledge.

The bedrooms are large and very cheerfully decorated, are well equipped and furnished and have large private bathrooms. The house is surprisingly large and spacious - it doesn't look big from the street but there are 5 large bedrooms for guest and a fine living room and dining room and that is only the public part of the house.

Out the back there is a lovely courtyard area which is an enjoyable place to linger with a glass of wine on a summer evening and also a games room with a pool table which guests are free to use.

The extra care that makes a good place into something special is evident here, it is spotlessly clean, there are nice touches like stacks of books and magazine available for guests to read and coffee served around an open fire.

Breakfast in freshly and well cooked and the home-made bread and scones in particular are excellent.

Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with breakfast.
