Strangford, Co Down
This is a family run guesthouse, restaurant and pub in a series of old interconnected buildings that have been modernised without losing any of their character. The location, overlooking lovely Strangford Lough, close to the harbour and the ferry, is excellent.
There are nine individually decorated bedrooms, which while fairly plain are comfortable and well furnished with good sized bathrooms in most of them - two have shower only.
There are open fires, a comfortable guest sitting room and a very good value restaurant serving a high standard of food all day. It is an extremely friendly place to stay and welcomes children. Strangford is a good base for exploring the Ards Peninsula and the beautiful coastal areas of Co Down, an often, and unjustly, overlooked part of Ireland.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
