If getting away from it all is on your agenda, then this is the place to do it. Located on a small wooded island on a lake near Killeshandra in Co Cavan, this luxury lodge has everything you need to relax far from the stress of your everyday life.
There are three large and comfortable bedrooms, two with their own bathroom and a third bathroom has a jacuzzi bath. There is a sauna, a games room, a lovely deck with magnificent views over the lake, a boat is provided and there is a herb garden outside.
The area is an anglers paradise, there are wonderful walks through 150 acres of private woodland on the Island and good facilities in Killeshandra, a short boat trip away.
The Island is steeped in history and there are the remains of an church just behind the lodge - exploring it and an old graveyard is a fascinating way to spend a sunny afternoon.
You need to book this one early - it's a gem.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
