Arriving at this beautiful 500 year old castle is special - you travel to the island on which it is located by private ferry. It goes on, all the modern facilities demanded of a top class hotel are here, in fabulously decorated and luxurious surroundings.
Bedrooms are sumtuous, individually decorated and filled with antiques. Bathrooms continue the theme of luxury with free standing baths, luxurious bathrobes and deluxe toiletries.
An excellent if expensive restaurant concentrates on local produce, often organic, to very good effect. The golf course is world class and there are plans to add a spa/leisure centre soon.
In spite of its upmarket nature, the athmosphere is relaxed and unstuffy, you will certainly not feel intimidated if you book in here for a once in a life time experience, and the invariably friendly staff really do go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay.
It is horribly expensive but it is worth it if you are fortunate enough to be able to afford the very best. In our opinion this is the best of all the castle hotels in Ireland.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
