Tedfest ‘10

March 4, 2010 to March 7, 2010
This festival on Aran Mór Island will either completely baffle you or make you want to up sticks and head for ‘Craggy Island” for a few days of completely off the wall madness!
The festival celebrates (if that is the right word!) the cult TV series Father Ted, and as anyone familiar with it will know that means madness, mayhem and total chaos are not just inevitable but desirable.
Planned events (though who knows what will actually happen) include Buckaroo and Movie Charades, a Jesuit Country & Western Hour, Priests v Nuns Beach Volleyball. Oh, and of course the annual Lovely Girls Competition!
The event is limited to just over 100 people – knowing the words of the famous and much loved Father Ted composition “My Lovely Horse” and an undying love of tea and sandwiches are required attributes for those attending – although there is a beer garden for those who tire of tea!
In previous years tickets (which cost €150 for the three days) have been oversubscribed many times with lucky attendees being selected by lottery. So the best you can do is sign up on the website and hope for the best.
The first weekend will take place on Inishmore and the second on Inisheer.
You know you want to. Go on, go on, go on!
Website (worth a look even if you’re not attending!)
