The Easter Racing festival at Fairyhouse is a big event in the Irish racing calendar and a regular annual outing for many families over the Easter weekend.
The Irish Grand National, on the Sunday, is the major event on the card and on the Irish steeplechasing calendar and will see the cream of British and Irish steeplechasers battling it out over stiff fences. It may not be Aintree, but this is always a hotly contested race.
The Power’s Gold Cup the previous day and the Ladbrokes.com Handicap Hurdle on the third day of the festival are other featured races and both attract quality fields.
This is a great family day out, with lots of entertainment laid on for kids especially to keep them occupied while their parents study the form, including a crèche for the littler ones.
It is always very crowded, so if you are planning to attend leave early and get there well before the first race.
Date and details for 2024 subject to confirmation.
