A long time and popular fixture in the Northern Ireland calender, the Oyster Festival takes place in the lovely Georgian village of Hillsborough, always a pleasure to visit.
Festival highlights include the annual oyster-eating contest and the Oyster Masters Golf Tournament, complimented by a full range of other activities with many themed around food. As well as pop up restaurant and special menus in local restaurants there is informal, fun eating too with loads of street food on offer, not all of it involving oysters!
Social highlight of the week is the annual Pearl and Oyster Ball, where the Oyster Pearl acts as hostess for the evening. You can also expect barbeques, musical events and street entertainment with plenty for all the family to enjoy.
