A small but prestigious irish music festival which takes place at the tip of the Beara Peninsula in the beautiful village of Allihies.  As well as great performances by some of Ireland’s best known musicians, there are competitions, workshops and many social occasions to enjoy.

Born in nearby Ardgroom, Michael was a famed player of fiddle and played with many renowned musicians in Beara as well as in Dublin, London and elsewhere. He was also an accomplished composer with more than a hundred tin whistle tunes to his credit.  A much loved member of the local community Micheal always very generous with his music and was very helpful in sessions to beginners and less experienced musicians.

Date and details for 2024 subject to confirmation.

The festival was established the year following his death and has become something of a mecca for trad fans, famed for both the quality of the music and the friendly laid back atmosphere in Allihies.  One not to miss if you are in the Cork or Kerry area that weekend.
