If ever there was country designed for walkers it’s the Mourne Mountains. Stunningly beautiful views combined with varied countryside that allows for walks to suit all abilities (and energy levels) makes it the perfect location for a walking festival. As well as the wonderful views walkers will enjoy seeing a huge diversity of flora and fauna and learning more about a region with a wealth of heritage, myths and legends.

The social highlight of the weekend is the aptly named ‘Blister Ball’, an evening of ceili and set dancing to traditional music with a hot buffet supper.

Event info and Map

Most walks start in Warrenpoint and you can book walks and tickets for the Blister Ball at the website – prebooking your walk is slightly cheaper than paying on the day but is not essential. Pay careful attention to the grades of walk – those marked as more difficult really are and you’ll need to be an experienced walker to tackle them.

You can also download a programme in PDF format.
