While this is primarily a competitive festival, with competitions for singers, musicians, dancers, song writers and pipe bands, there are also many non-competitive and informal events to entertain those not immediately involved in competitions.
There will be competitors and visitors from six Celtic nations in attendance – Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Brittany and Ireland.
Events include a festival parade, competitions, an international choral concert, street busking and a programme of fringe events and street entertainment.
This is a must on the itinerary of any visitor to Ireland who has a real interest in traditional and Celtic arts – and great fun for anyone who happens to be in the area.
