Very much a family affair (the local schools even take a day off so students can attend!) Punchestown Racing Festival is one of Ireland’s most enjoyable, friendly and well attended racing occasions.
There will be music and entertainment, there are ample restaurants and bars to cater for the crowds and the racing is always excellent.
The Punchestown Festival is one of the highlights of the racing calendar in Ireland and marks the end of the National Hunt season both in Ireland and the UK. Every Irish trainer likes to round off the season with a good outing here, and an increasing number of trainers from the UK are sending their horses to Punchestown too, making for excellent racing.
The main events are the Champion Chase , the Gold Cup and the Champion Hurdle but all races are hotly contested as old scores from the previous month’s Cheltenham Festival are settled.
Date and details for 2024 subject to confirmation.
