Summer Racing
National Hunt racing takes place at Limerick Racecourse on July 4th and to celebrate Independence Day all American Passport Holders will enjoy FREE admission to the races. Just bring your USA passport along to avail of free entry.
If you’ve never been racing in Ireland, this is a good chance to go along and make a day out of it. It’s very much a family event, with free entry for kids and free entertainment laid on for them too.
The Panoramic Restaurant at the course allows you to relax, have lunch or dinner and watch the races at the same time and there is a package available which includes admission price to the racecourse, race card, a 4 course lunch and reserved table for the day, with waiter service and tote facility. If you are availing of free entry however you will be better just booking the restaurant in advance.
Christmas Racing
The Christmas Racing Festival at Limerick takes place over 4 days, starting on St Stephen’s Day, and includes a Family Fun Day when children under 16 are admitted free of charge.
There is racing in other months also, often with special events held at the same time. The popular Twilight racing evening, combining racing with a BBQ at the course and live music after the races end, in late July is another good night to pick.
