Thank you for this wonderful website. It has been very helpful in planning our trip. I will be staying in the Cork area August 13th to 23rd and am unsure about what to pack. The temperature looks to be in the 15 to 17 degree range but the weather forecasts I read describe the weather as "mild". For the most part will my children be comfortable in shorts and I in capris and sandals? Or would we be more comfortable in
Ahoy everyone. Time is going to be tight when I come to Ireland next week and so how I use that time is very important. I don\'t think I\'m going to have time to do both peninsulas so I want advice on which one to go for. Originally I was going to do The Ring of Kerry, but stories of traffic jams and commercialisation are putting me off. Is it really as bad as that? Sounds like London or Dublin, but without buildings.
My wife and I are staying in Ballyvaughan for 4 days w\a car. We know we will visit the Cliffs of Mohr and the Burren. There are so many things to do I need assistance picking a few. We do not want to try to see everything, we would prefer to do a few things and really be able to enjoy them rather than rush from place to place. I would really appreciate some ideas and suggestions. Thank you.
My ancestors came from county cork. how do I go about finding a family cemetery or living relatives?
Hi! I'm going to Ireland in 2 months (im going to Limerick, Waterford, and Dublin) And because of my age I cant rent a car , so how would the rail passes work? If I bought a rail and bus pass for 8 days, would I be able to hop on and off at any time? How often do buses and trains go to a city? (more…)
We are planning a 10 day trip to Ireland on June 10 with a family of 4 (adults). We have a loose itinerary with definite places we will visit. My husband and I visited Ireland 4 years ago (in April) and drove finding B&B's (late afternoon ) haphazardly along the way. We had a wonderful time and were satisfied with all B&B's, some more than others. However now traveling with four adults, and in the month of June, should I be
Hello, I just discovered the site yesterday and am so excited! I have been so busy planning the wedding and we only booked our trip two weeks ago.... so I need HELP! I would like to get the most out of our trip, but worry about missing the 'smelling the roses' points. We are young, but not partiers- we like the green and the ocean! We are flying into Belfast on the afternoon of the 19th. The first hurdle is car rental- it
Hi, First time to Ireland in June, for our last night before heading back to Dublin airport, should we stay in Waterford or Wexford, any recommendations, would like a B&B and close to the town, even if we don't stay in Waterford, would like to stop there. Thanks, Sharon Lyons
How long is the Ring of Kerry?
We are from Denmark and are planning a summer father and son trip to Ireland in june. We will rent a car and follow the trip that was described by Kathrine. Our question, are we allowed to stay in a tent, wherever we find a nice spot, along the road or close to the cost line, or do we have to stay on camp sites?
Am I out of my mind to drive from Dingle to Clifden in a straight shot? Then go back and see the Cliffs of Moher the next day? Or would it be best to stop and see the cliffs and then continue? We'll be in Clifden for four nights and can explore at leisure.
Greetings Is there a list of all the campgrounds in Ireland? I will be backpacking for 4 months in Europe and I wish to stay at campgrounds during that time. My first stop - Ireland ! I shall be arriving in Dublin Aug 3rd. so my first campground must be somewhere near Dublin. Thank you so much for this site and for your help. Blessings, Kitt
Hi, I just starting to plan a trip for my family of 4 (me, my husband and two sons ages 15 and 11) in late June. I would like to fly into Shannon airport and stay around west Ireland, seeing Bunratty Castle and other sites and possibly doing some biking. I was hoping to stay in a self-catering cottage. Could you recommend a nice, comfortable place that isn't too expensive. What else would we not want to miss seeing while visiting
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Ireland... and as for the boyfriend, by planning I mean smiling and nodding as I run ideas by him as I do long hours of research hehe. We are planning to go in September for two weeks, for many reasons. It's my birthday, it's relatively cheaper, and did I mention my birthday? Our original plan was to land in Dublin, stay there a night or two in a hostel and then rent a
Hi, My wife and I will be visiting Ireland in August. As we have 15 nights to spend, we chose to do a 'grand tour'. Just wanted to check if our itinerary is a realistic one. Here's a rough outline of what we're planning to do. Day 1 arrive in Dublin from Belgium (afternoon). Visti Newgrange and spend the night in Drogheda. We won't visit Dublin as we have been on a city trip there last year. Day 2 Drive to Belfast and
Is it o.k.to bring dogs to the republic and what documentation do they need?
